Matlock Town have signed 28-year-old Luke Hinsley from fellow Evo Stik NPL side North Ferriby United.

Hinsley previously has had spells at Harrogate Railway, Goole AFC and Frickley Athletic, where he would make over 200 appearances for the south Elmsall club, scoring 39 times in the process, as well as winning the Supporters’ Player of the Year.

He left Frickley Athletic in January of 2017 to link up with Matlock’s local rivals Buxton, where he would play regularly and stay until this summer. Hinsley decided to move on, briefly joining Ossett United before making the decision to link up with North Ferriby United.

It’s at Ferriby where Hinsley has really hit his stride and impressed Matlock manager Dave Frecklington, scoring six goals in ten games.
