Matlock Town have announced the signing of 32-year-old striker Kieren Watson from Shirebrook Town.
Watson hit the headlines last season when he scored a grand total of fifty-two goals for the Division One Northern Counties East Football League sidem turning down offers from clubs higher up to finish the season with Shirebrook. He received the supporters’ player of the season.
Manager Dave Hoole and assistant manager Shaun Harrad are very happy to get their man after fighting off stiff competition from other clubs.
Watson’s previous clubs include Staveley MW, Hucknall Town, AFC Mansfield, Sheffield FC and Hallam FC and his signing should add some firepower to the Gladiators front line.
