Matlock Town have announced the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Jack Brownell, formerly of Chesterfield.
Brownell joined Chesterfield at Under-16 level and signed a professional contract with the club in April 2017. He went on to make one senior appearance in League One.
His contract was not renewed by Chesterfield at the end of the 2017/18 season.
He has played his part in every friendly so far and scored the winning penalty against Belper Town in the Caroline Melbourne Memorial Cup last Saturday.
