Craig McAllister has demanded a response from Gosport Borough when they travel to Weymouth in the Southern League Premier Division South, The Portsmouth News report.

The Privett Park boss rued his side’s display in their 4-1 defeat to Dorchester Town on Saturday.

McAllister felt Borough lacked heart and desire and gave up too easily in the second half. As a result, Gosport sit just a point and three places above the relegation zone. They travel to second-placed Weymouth tonight (7.45pm) and McAllister wants his troops to deliver a much-improved performance.

The player-manager said: ‘We’re quite happy there is a quick turnaround because it means we can put things right.

“Saturday wasn’t good enough – we weren’t at the races and form hasn’t been great.

“All we keep asking from the lads is effort and fight. We could have showed a lot more of that on Saturday.”
