AFC Telford United boss Rob Edwards has challenged ‘frustrated’ forward John McAtee to keep up his efforts to get back in the side.

Shrewsbury Town loanee McAtee, 18, has been left out of the last four Bucks games. There are six matches left as Telford aim to survive in National League North, the next being at home against Leamington tomorrow.

“It’s difficult for John. You can only have five loan players in the squad and with us playing the way we are, it suits Ryan Giles as he’s an out-and-out winger,” said Edwards.

“I had a quick chat with him before the Chorley game. He’ll be frustrated but he’s got to keep fighting and got to keep working because Thursday is a new day.”
