Hampton & Richmond Borough have announced 8 new players who will be joining the club for the 2018/19 season.
The details of the incomings to new boss Gary McCann’s side were revealed as follows on the club’s site:
24 year old Olly Sprague joins us having last played for Bostik Premier champions Billericay Town. Olly operates as a left back, and joins up with manager Gary McCann following his spell at Hendon.
A long-serving member of Hendon’s team under Gary McCann, Casey joins us having played for Hendon since 2007. A versatile defender/midfielder, who chipped in with 51 goals in his 358 games, Gary will be chuffed to have got one of his main men.
Nathan joins us from Leyton Orient, having signed for the O’s from Wingate and Finchley back in January. Nathan’s footballing CV is an impressive one, having played for Aldershot Town, Cambridge City and Wealdstone, as well as featuring as a substitute for West Ham in the Europa League in 2015 v Astra Giurgui.
Another player from Hendon who joins after one year with the London club, midfielder Daniel’s footballing background is definitely an interesting one. He came through the youth set-up at Charlton Athletic, but also boasts West Ham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Aberdeen, AFC Eskilstuna (Sweden), Dalkurd FF (Sweden) and BSV Hurturkel (Germany) as his previous clubs, whilst representing Nigeria at U20 and U23 level.
One of five players joining the Beavers from Hendon, defensive midfielder Michael links up with McCann following a season with the Greens last year. He started at Cardiff City, before spells with Oxford United, Wealdstone and Chelmsford City led him to Beveree.
Non-league fans will know all about Ricky, who joins us following a season at Wealdstone. Ricky has played for neighbours Sutton and AFC Wimbledon, gaining promotion in the National League South Playoff Final, and National League Playoff Final, playing for AFC Wimbledon and Salisbury City respectively.
19 year old right back Jake joins the Beavers following a year at Hendon, after leaving the West Ham academy where he cut his teeth. Everpresent Jake made 48 appearances for the Greens last year, so he’s a man Gary can certainly count on.
Josh joins us from Billericay, having also played for Wealdstone, joining the Middlesex outfit from Harlow Town. 26 year old Josh can play across the back line, and has also represented St Albans City.
All of last season’s squad have been contacted and spoken to by Gary, and a large number of these have been invited to pre-season training, which begins on June 23.
The club is delighted to say at this stage that 4 of last year’s first-team have been retained for the upcoming season, with 3 academy players also staying on. There are further players currently in the balance, with players weighing up their options as is often the case.
News on these players will be announced in the coming weeks, as well as more new signings into Beveree, perhaps as early as Monday.
