Tonbridge Angels overcame Metropolitan Police 3-2 in extra-time to reach the National League South at the weekend.
The Super Play-Off final at Imber Court eventually went the way of Steve McKimm’s side, with Tom Derry’s header sealing the deal. Arthur Lee and D’Sean Theobalds had scored for Tonbridge, who twice had to fight back from a goal behind.
Manager McKimm told the club’s website after the game: “For us to get promotion is testament to the extraordinary effort of everyone at this club.”
It marks a return to National South for the first time since 2014 and there were jubilant scenes with the Angels fans on the pitch afterwards.
