FA Trophy finalists FC Halifax Town have announced that defender Scott McManus has signed a new two-year deal with the club relegated from the Vanarama National League.

McManus, 26, is the longest-serving player with the Shaymen, having joined under former boss Neil Aspin in the summer of 2011.

The popular full-back started his career with Prestwich Heys and has also had spells with Curzon Ashton, Crewe Alexandra and FC United of Manchester.

He scored Town’s final goal of the season with his strike against Macclesfield Town last month.
