Adam Mekki says that it has been important for Tranmere Rovers to have picked up good results in the last few weeks.

Tranmere picked up back-to-back wins on the road at Barrow and Bromley and are now looking for maximum points against Torquay United at Prenton Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

He told Tranmere Player: “The last couple of games have perhaps not been the prettiest but it is vital to get the points on the board.

“It’s been a little while since we had a home game so it’ll be good to get back in front of the fans and hopefully get the three points.”

The winger has been pleased with his own performance so far this season which recently saw him sign an extended contract.

He said: “My aim at the start of the season was to try and establish myself in the team and get as many games under my belt as I could.

“I’ve managed to do that and been rewarded with an extended contract until the end of the season.

“My focus now is to keep my place in the team, keep working hard and build on the performances and results that we’ve had in the last few weeks.”
