Aldershot Town attacking midfielder Bernard Mensah paid tribute to his team-mates for taking advantage of their game in hand over their promotion rivals at Bromley on Tuesday night.

Mensah opened the scoring at Hayes Lane just shy of the half-hour mark, and he was glad to send the travelling fans home happy.

“It was a fantastic team performance, words can’t describe how well we did,” he said.

“We stuck together, everyone did their job and it was another clean sheet as well, so the goalkeeper is happy, the back four is happy, everyone is happy.

“Bromley were just behind us, and if they had won they would have gone above us.

“Our fans were fantastic, I don’t think I heard the Bromley fans sing once.

“We made our fans happy going home, so it was a fantastic night and now we get ready for Saturday.”
