Chesterfield have announced a new contract for Curtis Weston.
The former Gillingham and Barnet midfielder, 34, has now committed to the National League side until the end of next season.
Spireites manager James Rowe said: “I’m delighted. His physical stats as well as his all-round play has been brilliant.
“He has also accepted the role as club captain. He is a great ambassador to the community.
“He’s a role model on and off the pitch; normally he’s the first in and the last out. The lads call him ‘The Machine’ in training.”
