North Shields midfielder Ben Richardson has left the EBAC Northern League club.

The former Washington player has reluctantly decided that his future lies elsewhere.be nrich

Richardson has been a pivotal player in the Robins recent success.

Since joining from Washington he went on to make 211 appearances for the club, as they secured promotion, a Northumberland Senior Cup triumph and, most famously, their FA Vase win in 2015.

An injury has meant he has struggled to find his way back into the Robins lineup, with the club now sat five points clear at the top of the Northern League table and remain unbeaten in the league this season.

A statement on the Robins website read “Everyone at North Shields wants to wish Ben all the best for whatever the future holds. We hope to see you back at the Morgue soon!”
