Mildenhall Town boss Dean Greygoose has praised the attitude of young midfielder Aaron Smith after he was this week handed a trial with Norwich City’s U23s.
Smith, who has only played a handful of games for the first team after breaking through this season, played for Norwich in their 3-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday and 1-0 win over Bury Town on Monday.
The 16 year old, who has been playing at left back while on trial, has also been called back to represent the young Canaries again when they take on Reading this weekend.
“We’re delighted for Aaron as his attitude is spot on,” said Greygoose. “He’s been training with our first team since he was still at school. He done well for our U18s and has done well for our first team as well.
“As a 16 year old, he was standing out in training against fully grown men. He has a lovely left foot, he is intelligent and athletic and he has a top class attitude. There’s also been interest from other pro clubs, which tends to happen when you’re in the first team at 16.”
