York City have signed Dutch winger Justin Johnson on loan for the rest of the season from Scottish Championship side Dundee United.
Born in The Hague, the 20-year-old originally started out with Sparta Rotterdam until moving to Manchester United’s Academy.
But following his release from Old Trafford, Johnson began making an impression with National League North side FC United of Manchester and as an amateur with the Tangerines’ development squad.
He was awarded a three-year deal by then United manager and now York boss Jackie McNamara, and soon earned a senior debut as a substitute against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Johnson has to date scored once in six appearances for the Tannadice outfit.
