Boss Alan Dowson believes Woking will be more able to cope financially than most of their National League counterparts after Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling called for the government to step in to help during the Covid-19 crisis.
The 49-year-old Geordie hopes any assistance would be equally split among clubs, but says what could amount to a large sum of money for Woking might not be so helpful for the bigger full-time outfits.
“When this sort of thing happens, when we’re not playing matches, it can work in our favour,” he said.
“Of course, we still need money too. But I think we can cope better than some of the others because they are full-time and have much bigger budgets than us.”
