Weymouth boss Mark Molesley says his side have to take matters into their own hands, after a 1-1 draw at Poole Town saw their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South table cut to just one point, the Dorset Echo report.

At one stage, it seemed the title belonged to the Terras, with Weymouth drawing against Poole and Merthyr beating Taunton Town, a set of results that would have seen Molesley’s men crowned champions.

However, the stalemate at Poole persisted, and Taunton came back to beat Merthyr 3-2 to set up a grandstand finale on the final day of the season on Saturday.

Molesley said: “We are obviously disappointed, it is the trials and tribulations of football really, isn’t it?

“At one stage I think it was all going OK and things change, but look, we have got to take matters into our own hands, we have got to try and look after ourselves and we have not managed to get the wins over the line in the last few games.”
