Chorley manager Jamie Vermiglio wanted to savour the moment after his side came back from two goals down to beat Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.

The Magpies were playing away from home against the League One side, who are three divisions higher than the Victory Park club at present.

Having conceded twice in the first half, Chorley came roaring back through Elliot Newby and Harry Cardwell, before an extra-time winner from Connor Hall.

Vermiglio told Chorley FC TV: “We’ve just celebrated together in there, because moments like this you’ve got to cherish for the rest of your life, to be honest with you.

“You think back about your greatest moments in football, they often come to an FA Cup game, or a league win, and you don’t get many of those.

“So, we’ve just had a good sing! Fans aren’t here to share it with us, that’s the only real downside.”
