Margate have announced that midfielder Luke Moore has agreed to extend his contract by a further year and will remain at Hartsdown Park until the end of the 2016/17 season.

Moore joined from AFC Wimbledon in June 2014 under Terry Brown and enjoyed promotion via the play-offs as the Blues beat Hendon 1-0 to secure promotion to the National League South.

The 28-year-old played a pivotal part towards the back end of the season as the Gate secured safety in the National League South, despite a 2-0 defeat at Bath City on the final day.

Manager Nikki Bull is delighted to secure the services of the former AFC Wimbledon and Ebbsfleet United midfielder: “Luke was one of those I wanted to keep all along and I made that clear to him at the end of the season although deep down I wasn’t sure we could because of the package he had been on.

“We’ve been in constant dialogue since the end of the season and I agreed to speak to him on his return from Australia.

“He told me where he was in terms of other offers and we were able to come to an agreement which I’m delighted about”.
