Barrow have appointed Micky Moore as Paul Cox’s new assistant manager ahead of the 2017/18 Vanarama National League Season.

Moore began his career as a player with Swansea and Derby County, but was forced into early retirement with a back injury at the age of 29.

He went into coaching and is now a UEFA A licensed coach.

Micky has previously been manager at Solihull and Nuneaton, as well as Assistant manager at Mansfield, where he and Paul Cox worked together. He also had a spell as assistant manager at Grimsby Town, adding to his wealth of non-league and football league experience.

Moore joined up with the squad for the start of pre-season and is ready to face his first fixture in the role against Blackburn Rovers tomorrow at the Furness Building Society Stadium. Kick off is 3pm.
