With injuries to key defenders, including Theo Streete and Liam Daly, Solihull Moors` manager Marcus Bignot has signed full-back Shepherd Murombedzi.
The 21-year-old was born in Zimbabwe but moved to England as a 4-year-old.
Spotted playing youth football in Oxford, he joined Reading`s academy at the age of 12.
Murombedzi earned both a scholarship and professional contract at Reading before progressing to the Royals under-21 side.
Whilst with Reading, he gained experience out on loan with Ryman League Premier Division side Bognor Regis Town and after being released by Reading, had spells with Oxford City and Banbury United.
In the summer of 2015 he joined National League side Torquay United on trial and scored a hat-trick on his debut in a pre-season friendly – a performance that prompted the Gulls to sign him on a one-year deal.
After making nineteen appearances, Torquay`s financial situation at the time meant Murombedzi and several other players were forced to leave the club and in February 2016 he signed for National League North outfit Nuneaton Town before swiftly moving on to National League South side Hayes & Yeading United, where he ended last season.
