Spennymoor Town have secured the services of former Sunderland and Darlington winger Adam Mitchell.
The 23-year-old has signed from Darlington after an undisclosed fee was agreed between Moors and the Vanarama National League North side.
Mitchell spent loan spells at both Harrogate Town and Darlington, before signing with the latter upon his release from Sunderland’s academy.
He signed a new two-year deal with the Quakers this summer, but has made a limited number of appearances and joins Moors ready to repeat last season’s successes in the EvoStik League Northern Premier Division.
Mitchell said: “On hearing that I was put on the transfer market and Spennymoor wanted me, I wanted to speak to Jason and Alan White about the club and their ambitions.
“Obviously Spennymoor are very ambitious, so it fits with where I want to be as a player so it was an easy decision.”
Jason Ainsley, Manager of Spennymoor Town, said: “I’m delighted to secure the signing of wide player Adam Mitchell.
“Adam has a lot of different qualities to add to us and will bring an extra dimension, especially from wide areas. He has been a major part of Darlington’s recent success and hopefully those good habits will follow him to Spennymoor.
“Welcome to the club Adam.”
