Notts County are set to call in more defensive reinforcements after Neal Ardley revealed he has deals agreed to help bolster his back four.

The Magpies boss has been desperately searching for presence and strength to help cope with the physical nature of the National League after they slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Eastleigh at the weekend.

Ardley is now awaiting the paperwork to be completed and should that be the case, the players could be involved for the first home game of the season against Stockport on Tuesday night.

Notts have already signed central defender Ben Turner and full-backs Damien McCrory and Zoumana Bakayogo, but the heart of the defence still remains light on numbers.
