Tamworth boss Andy Morrell has called on his players to ‘come out fighting’ as they bid to halt a run of five straight defeats.

And he wants his senior players to come to the fore as the Lambs prepare for testing away trips at York City and Chorley.

Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Hednesford in the Birmingham Senior Cup made it three home defeats in a row for Tamworth, having suffered away losses at Stafford and FC United.

And Morrell said: “I have never lost five games on the spin, it’s not good enough.

“It has crept up on us to a certain extent and we have to address it.

“We have got to baton down the hatches now and come out swinging.”
