Stuart Murphy’s £1million investment over three years into Chester FC has been offically confirmed.
Back in May it was reported that entrepreneur Murphy was behind the proposed donation and the club have now confirmed that an agreement has been reached after ‘due legal process.’ This will mean that £1million is set to be pumped into the club, currently preparing for next season in the Vanarama National League North after relegation, over the next three years.
The lion’s share of this has been earmarked for infrastructure improvements which will aid the club’s sustainability.
As part of a statement posted on the club website, Murphy said: “I am really delighted to be able to join forces with the Board and supporters at Chester FC. This gives me a great opportunity to give something back to the City of Chester and to the football club that I care for so much.
“I have lots of ideas to move the club forward positively and I can’t wait to get started. There is much to do, but I am confident that together we can now start to write a new and far more positive chapter in the history of Chester FC.”
