Adam May is out to prove his Pompey worth after turning down a loan move to Havant & Waterlooville.

The News understands Lee Bradbury tried to take the centre-midfielder to Westleigh Park – but the Blues academy product rejected the offer. May has slipped down the Fratton Park pecking order following the summer arrivals of Tom Naylor and Ben Thompson.

The academy product has made just one appearance this season – coming in the 4-0 Checkatrade Trophy victory over Gillingham last week – and hasn’t been included in a single League One match-day squad. Kenny Jackett confirmed there have been enquires from two National League clubs for May.

Both were rebuffed by the 20-year-old. Instead he wants to remain at Pompey and try to work his way into his manager’s plans.
