The Vanarama National League have confirmed that the 2018 Promotion Final will take place on Saturday 12th May at Wembley Stadium.
A 3pm kick off time has been announced, although that is subject to confirmation.
Just under 19,000 supporters witnessed last season’s final, as Forest Green Rovers finally secured promotion into the Football League with a 3-1 win over Tranmere Rovers.
The National League’s official broadcast partner BT Sport will have live coverage of the final once again.
Moving the National League promotion final to a Saturday now means that the National League North and National League South Promotion Finals will now take place on Sunday 13th May 2018.
This season’s play-offs will also be the first to fall under the new format that was agreed at the National League’s AGM.
National League member clubs voted in favour of introducing six-team play-offs to the fifth and sixth tiers of the league pyramid.
That move means that teams finishing between second and seventh place in all three of the National League’s divisions will be involved in the play-offs.
Games will be one-legged, with teams in fourth and fifth hosting the seventh and sixth clubs in a qualifying round.
The winners of those matches will then move into the semi-finals before a final – at Wembley for the National League and a club ground for the North and South divisions.
Teams that finish second and third will progress straight to a semi-final at their home ground, in theory giving them an advantage as they will play one match fewer and have a home tie.
