This Saturday will almost be a homecoming scenario when a special presentation is made by The National League to the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, with the league choosing their LIVE televised game between Dagenham & Redbridge and Wrexham this Saturday from the Vanarama National League, to hand over a cheque for £15,250.73.

English Heritage recently unveiled a ‘Blue Plaque’ to the England and West Ham United legend at his childhood home in nearby Barking, so it is an ideal opportunity, in front of BT Sport cameras, to welcome Stephanie Moore to the match to receive the donation towards the Fund, set up by her in memory of her late and great husband and the continuing efforts made to beat bowel cancer, which sadly cut short Bobby’s life.

The National League set out last season to raise a sizeable amount towards the charitable aims and objectives of the Fund and in so doing to coincide their efforts with the 50th Anniversary of England winning the World Cup and those never to be forgotten iconic images of the man himself lifting the Jules Rimet Trophy.

The match this Saturday (27th) kicks-off at 12.15pm and is the precursor of a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend of National League football across the country.
