Tim Flowers has said he is ‘under no illusions’ about the task at hand in taking over as Barnet boss.
The Premier League winner and ex-England international was announced earlier this week as the Bees’ new manager, following the departure of Peter Beadle at the weekend.
Speaking to his new club’s YouTube channel, the former Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper said:
“Absolutely delighted to be here. Obviously been here a few times with my previous club, Solihull, and it’s a fantastic place to come and play, it’s a beautiful facility.
“Obviously ex-EFL, and aspiring to get back in the EFL as quickly as possible, having spoken to (chairman) Mr. Kleanthous. I’m delighted to be here.
“I’m under no illusions, I’m not wet behind the ears, so I understand where we’re at. I’ve obviously followed not just Barnet but the National League very closely since I left Solihull.
“It hasn’t changed a heck of a lot, if I’m honest with you, it’s a brutal division.”
