Craig Elliott is confident Jonny Margetts will deliver in National League North after bringing the former Lincoln City striker to Boston United.

The capture of the former Scunthorpe United, Tranmere Rovers and Hull City forward is a major coup for the Pilgrims boss, who is assembling an impressive-looking squad. After a couple of frustrating years at Scunthorpe, where he has barely featured, Margetts is looking to get his career back on track.

“I fully expect him to be able to deliver in this league,” declared Elliott.

“He’s a player who should be playing higher but circumstances have dictated that we’ve got him here.

“He just wants to play football and get his career back on track. And he knows a couple of the lads already, which helps.

“We’ve got great wingers in the team and we want someone to finish those chances off. He’s a good age as well at 24. He ticked all the boxes.”
