Following Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Aldershot Town at the Technique Stadium, new Chesterfield manager James Rowe was pleased with the effort his side put in.

He told the club’s website: “I’m pleased with how we kept going. We didn’t start right in the second half, but other than that 15-minute spell, I thought we dominated the game.

“The lads have put everything in there and that’s what we want. I can say hand on heart that we’ve got some tired legs in there. We put everything into it and it wouldn’t go in.

“Whether it was a save from distance, whether it was offside or whether it was off the line at the end. It’s just one of those days.”
