Defender Elliott Johnson has signed a new contract with Barnet.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at The Hive London, subject to relevant confirmation from The FA and National League.
Johnson has made 241 professional appearances for the Bees, making him the leading appearance holder in the current Barnet squad.
A product of the academy, Johnson spoke of his joy after securing his future at the club.
“It’s a good feeling to get it over the line. There have been a lot of discussions over the past few months, but I’m very happy it’s done.
“This club is very important to me, I made my debut here after being an apprentice and to have played almost 250 games for Barnet is something special.
“The current group has had a season to gel and hopefully, after a good pre-season, we’ll be able to push on and have a successful campaign in 2019/20.”
Head coach Darren Currie added: “It’s fantastic news for the club, Elliott has been here a long time and it is brilliant that he has opted to stay!
“Personally, I’m really pleased as it shows a commitment to what I’m trying to implement at this fantastic club.
“Elliott is a very key player for us, he is an intelligent player and he’s still a young player, just 24, so he still has room for improvement and I’m looking forward to seeing that.”
