Defender Charlie Clough has signed a new deal with Forest Green that will keep him at The New Lawn until the end of the 2018-19 season.
The 26-year-old centre-back arrived in Nailsworth from Sutton United almost two years ago in January 2015 and he has gone on to play 82 times for Rovers in all competitions, scoring five times.
Clough was named Supporters Player of the Year last season after picking up 10 man of the match awards from 42 appearances in all competitions as Rovers made it to the Play-Off Final at Wembley.
The 6’2″ defender began his career at Bristol Rovers and made his senior debut for the Pirates came as a teenager in a League One defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion.
He was shipped out on loan to several clubs in the West to help him gain further experience, and he tasted life at the likes of Newport County, Weymouth, Bath City, Chippenham and AFC Telford United.
On his release from Bristol Rovers in 2012, he signed for Dorchester Town, where he had enjoyed another loan spell, and after a season long stay at the Avenue Stadium, he was picked up by Sutton United in September 2013.
Clough established himself as a formidable defender in the Conference South and as captain guided Sutton to the n 2013-14 Play-Off Semi Final where they lost to eventual promotion winner Dover Athletic.
