Gloucester City’s new stadium is set to have a 4G surface and crush barriers, as plans are amended.
New plans put to Gloucester City Council by the club has seen them change the pitch from grass to 4G, with Gloucester City arguing that it will allow all teams, including the juniors and ladies sides, to train and play at Meadow Park.
In comparison to grass, 4G pitches can be used far more regularly without deteriorating.
Plans for the artificial surface have been prepared by Tigerturf.
The company also installed the 4G surface at Cheltenham rugby club, and promise 20,000 playing hours on the pitch.
