New Grantham Town boss Richard Thomas has made his first signing since joining the Gingerbreads as manager, securing the signature of 18-year-old defender Choz Charlesworth.

Charlesworth came up through the ranks at Nottingham Forest, spending nine years at the Reds, before being released in the summer. Most recently, he had a spell on trial at county neighbours Lincoln City.

Charlesworth is a familiar face to current Gingerbread Luke McCormick, as they were in the same Nottingham Forest U18s team, alongside goalkeeper Rudolfs Soloha, who kept a clean sheet on his only appearance for the Gingerbreads in an emergency loan spell last season.
