Shamir Mullings is out to prove his critics wrong after setting a 20-goal target at Maidstone.
The former Forest Green striker feels he has a point to prove after joining the Stones on a one-year deal.
He scored in Saturday’s 5-0 friendly win over Nottingham Forest under-23s and again in a 3-2 comeback victory against Brentford B on Tuesday. The big man looks sharp and is determined to show what he’s all about.
He said: “My target is 20 goals for the season.
“I want to push myself, I want to play as much as I can and help the team get high up the table and stay there as long as we can.
“Hopefully that means promotion, or play-offs, whatever it’s going to be.
“My main aim is to score a lot of goals to prove to everyone who thought I couldn’t do it, that I can.
“A lot of people put a lot of doubt in me and I’ve come here to play and prove I can do it.”
