Chris Middleton has completed a transfer from Winsford United to New Mills AFC.

The defender said: “Calum (Sykes) has tried to sign me for quite a while now, firstly when he was at Stockport Town although that was never going to happen at that time, and when the time came for me to leave Winsford United he was keen to talk to me again. Ryan Hopper pretty much sold the club to me, New Mills is a big club that I am surprised to see playing at this level.

“With the squad the manager is trying to assemble here we should be aiming to push for promotion as soon as possible. I hope to bring some experience and organisational skills to the squad and I can’t wait to get started.”
