Pro boxer Carl Chadwick, 36, has vowed to fight for the future of North Ferriby United after taking over the club, recently relegated from the National League North.

In an interview with the Hull Daily Mail, he said:

“We owe money to quite a lot of people. The first day I took over someone called me up saying I owed them money and it’s not stopped.

“If we took the club into liquidation those people wouldn’t get their money back, so I’m hoping the people who we owe money to like the old managers will give us time to get up and running and we can start paying them off.

“If we go into liquidation that doesn’t help anyone. I could have just squashed the club and started again which would have been easier in many ways, but I’m a fighter and I won’t do that. We’ll fight our way out of this and it’s a fight we can win.”
