Experienced defender Ben Davies has put pen-to-paper on a new contract with Vanarama National League North cub Boston United.

The 37-year-old former Shrewsbury Town, Derby, Sheffield United and Portsmouth right-back, who joined the Pilgrims three weeks into the season, was only contracted initially until New Year’s Day but he has now committed himself for the remainder of the campaign.

Davies has made 21 appearances to date, scoring once against Bradford Park Avenue last Saturday, in the process.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old centre-half Lewis Gibbens has agreed to extend his loan spell with the Pilgrims from League Two side Mansfield Town into a second month.
