Rory Gaffney has said that earning promotion with Bristol Rovers was a highlight of his career.
It was announced earlier today that he will join National League side Salford City for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract. Gaffney signed for the Gas on loan in December 2016, and got off to an incredible start scoring five goals in seven games.
The club signed him on a permanent deal in January and he went to play a major role in the club’s promotion that year, which is something he looks back on with fond memories.
“The highlight of my time in England was definitely getting promoted with Bristol Rovers on the last day of the season,” he said to the Salford’s website.
He spent three years at Rovers, making 114 appearances, but unfortunately couldn’t prolong his early goalscoring form throughout his time at the Mem.
