Weston-super-Mare have announced that Jacob Cane has accepted the clause in his contract on re-engagement for the coming season.

Former Exeter City midfielder Cane says he is delighted to be a key part in Ryan Northmore’s plans and the squad is looking stronger for the season, and has the ability to challenge for the play-offs.

Head coach Northmore said: “The deal for Jacob took a little longer than expected because there was another club courting his services. But I am delighted that we were able to get this deal concluded.

“Jacob needed to consider his options and he has chosen to stay when he had more money on the table elsewhere. All credit to him for putting his football ambition above his finances. The squad is now 85% done”.
