Weymouth’s Lloyd Thomas praised his ‘little mate from Portsmouth’ Jordan Ngalo as the goalkeeper settles into life at the club, report The Dorset Echo.

The new Terra has been really impressed by the standards set by the club following his move, which was announced midway through Weymouth’s first pre-season friendly, a 6-0 loss to Bournemouth Under-23s at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Thomas could face Moneyfields, based in northern Portsmouth, tonight (7.45pm) as the Terras travel for a pre-season friendly.

Thomas said: “Yeah they are all alright, it is just how it is. It is just simple they are all alright boys. They are all from up Poole way but I am from Portsmouth so I have got my little mate from Portsmouth Jordan (Ngalo), so it is all good.

“We are going to be sharing a car and that for the journey so it is good to have someone from your area because sometimes when you come to a club like this where it is so big you get so many big players and it just nice.”

Thomas has made the jump from the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division, having previously been playing at Hamble Club.
