Speaking to the Cumberlandecho, new Workington chairman Les Byers has been talking of his hopes and fears for the future.
In the grip of the coronavirus, Reds are like every other non-league club – and quite a few at a higher level – planning to make sure they survive.
The new chairman says: “My primary aim is to secure Reds’ future for the next generations of our supporters. But I am under no illusions that the task ahead of us as a relatively new board will not be an easy one, particularly in these uncertain and unpredictable times.
“It would be wrong to under-estimate the massive problems we all face going forward through this prolonged period of disruption.”
