EBAC Northern League club Penrith have appointed their third manager in two weeks.

Assistant manager Jim Nichols will step up to the manager’s position following the Penrith F.C. logodeparture of former manager Mark Birch.




The former Carlisle United defender had been in charge of the club for one game, a 2-2 draw at Jarrow Roofing, and then stepped down on Tuesday to focus on his position working at the Cumbrians’ academy.

Birch had been appointed following the departure of Matt Henney, who left Frenchfield Park after a three and a half year stay.

Nichols will take charge of his first fixture as permenant Blues boss on Saturday when they host Durham City in the FA Vase.

The club currently side in seventeenth position in the Northern League Division One table and have five points from their seven games.
