Torquay United`s player-manager Kevin Nicholson another another central defender to his squad.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea defender Giancarlo Gallifuoco has signed on non-contract terms with a view to joining the club permanently subject to international clearance.
Gallifuoco, 22, hails from Sydney, Australia and is also an Italian national. He has represented Austraila at under-23 level otherwise known as the `Olyroos`.
He has can also play in central midfield so adds much needed versatility to Nicholson’s squad.
Gallifuoco joined Tottenham in 2012 after a spells with Australian side Sutherland Sharks, the New South Wales National Training Centre, and the FFA Centre of Excellence.
After leaving Spurs, he joined Garry Monk at Swansea in 2014, before returning to his homeland and signing for A-League side Melbourne Victory.
International clearance is currently being sought, but Gallifuoco could be available to play as early as our first home fixture against Bromley on Tuesday.
