Matt Halliday has been giving his thoughts on taking over as manager of Sheringham FC.

He told the club’s website: “It was a no-brainer for me to take it after being asked to do it by Kristian this morning. The opportunity to build on the excellent foundations that have been laid by Chris, Darren and Ryan is a great challenge.

“I have been at the club for three years now and know the core of the squad really well. I know that if we do start this season again we can push for the top six with the talent that is in the current squad.

When asked if he is going to be adding to the coaching staff, he added “We are in the process of sorting out someone else to help out myself and Adam but nothing decided as yet. If we start again this season we would like to get the person in straight away to start as we mean to go on.”
