Chester FC midfielder Gary Roberts hasn’t broken a bone in his foot but remains a major doubt for this weekend’s trip to National League North leaders Chorley, report Cheshire Live.

Speaking to the media after the match, joint-boss Bernard Morley stated that it looked like a broken bone in his foot initially, with plenty of swelling, and Roberts was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital to be assessed.

But he was told that there has been no break, but plenty of severe bruising has seen his foot remain swollen, with the midfielder ensuring he keeps the injury iced to help reduce the swelling.

“I went straight to the Countess after the game and they said that there is no break, which is good, but that there is a lot of swelling and bruising,” said Roberts.
