South Shields defender Blair Adams did not suffer a fracture in this week’s game with Stourbridge.

The former Coventry City man was forced off in the first half of Tuesday’s 4-0 FA Trophy third round qualifying replay at Mariners Park. The club have given the following update on the 28-year-old:

After sustaining an ankle injury last night, Blair underwent an x-ray today which confirmed some ligament damage but no fracture.

He’ll be assessed further later this week to determine the full extent of the injury and the length of time he’ll be out.
