The North Ferriby story begins again, as the application for a phoenix club, North Ferriby FC, has been accepted by The FA.

After North Ferriby United were liquidated in mid-March, work has been ongoing to re-establish a club within the non-league pyramid. Now the plans have been given the official go-ahead, with The FA accepting the application lodged by the club’s former chairman Les Hare for a North Ferriby FC to start play next season.

Hare was chairman for 22 years before his departure in 2015 and is joined by local residents and business figures in launching the club. The team will play in the Northern Counties East League and at the Church Road ground.

2015 FA Trophy winners North Ferriby United had been in the Evo-Stik Premier Division this season after successive relegations. Bottom of the league, their results were eventually wiped from the standings after being wound up over unpaid debts.

It starts again in the months to come, with the club looking to appoint a manager in the near future.
