North Ferriby United have been wound up this morning.
It is a desperately sad demise for a club who won the FA Trophy only four years ago, beating Wrexham on penalties at Wembley. As recently as 2016/17, the Villagers were in the National League, but finished bottom and were relegated again last season.
The club have been rock-bottom of the Evo-Stik Premier Division, winning just two of their 33 games this season. Owner Carl Chadwick recently unsuccessfully tried to relocate the club under the new name of East Hull, with the club subsequently going up for sale.
The club will not now be allowed to play any more fixtures and will be placed in the hands of a liquidator.
