Wes Thomas has left Notts County after the club agreed to release him from his contract.

The former Birmingham City and Bournemouth forward signed for the club last August, but the 34-year-old has recently been training away from the squad.

Magpies boss Neal Ardley revealed earlier this month that Thomas had expressed concerns over safety, in light of the ongoing pandemic, and was subsequently training away from the club.

The National League side have now confirmed that they have ‘reluctantly accepted’ his request to terminate his deal, adding:

“The forward, who joined us in 2019, cited family reasons behind his decision and departs with our best wishes for the future.”
